What is cTrader and how is it different from MetaTrader?
cTrader is a third-party trading platform built specifically for ECN/STP execution. Unlike MetaTrader, it offers Level II depth-of-market by default (you see the order book, not just the best bid/ask), built-in advanced order types (like trailing stops with offsets), and a modern C# automation language called cAlgo. Most professional scalpers and algorithmic traders prefer cTrader for the order book transparency, while MetaTrader remains more popular for retail and copy trading.
Do all cTrader brokers offer the same spreads?
No. cTrader's protocol allows brokers to inject their own spread markup or pass through raw interbank spreads with a separate commission. The brokers ranked above all use raw-spread pricing models, charging round-turn commission of $4.50–$7 per standard lot. Brokers that offer cTrader with marked-up spreads and no commission typically work out more expensive overall for active traders.
Can I run automated trading strategies on cTrader?
Yes — cTrader has its own automation framework called cAlgo, which uses C# rather than MQL4/5. cAlgo strategies are not directly compatible with MetaTrader EAs, but the language is more modern and the order routing is typically more transparent. Why are there fewer cTrader brokers than MetaTrader brokers?
